How the online darts scorer works
- 01Set up the gameChoose one to four players, 301, 501 or 701, double out or straight out, and how many legs win the match.
- 02Enter each visitType the total of the three darts or tap a quick score. The scorer subtracts it, moves to the next player and rejects scores that three darts can’t make.
- 03Finish the legOn a finish it shows the checkout route – the same routes the Darts Scorer app uses, listed in the checkout chart. When you check out, say how many darts you needed so your average stays correct.
Rules the scorer follows
- Bust: score more than you have left, leave 1, or (with double out) finish without a double, and the visit scores nothing. You stay on your old score and the visit counts as three darts.
- Impossible scores: 163, 166, 169, 172, 173, 175, 176, 178 and 179 can’t be thrown with three darts, so the scorer won’t accept them.
- Bogey numbers: 169, 168, 166, 165, 163, 162 and 159 can’t be checked out with three darts on a double. The scorer tells you to set up a finish instead.
- 3-dart average: points scored ÷ darts thrown × 3, counted over the whole match. Work out any other average with the darts average calculator.
- Who starts: the starting player rotates every leg.

Is the online darts scorer free?
Yes. It is free, needs no account and shows no ads.
Is my game saved?
The current game is kept in this browser, so a reload doesn’t lose it. Nothing is sent to a server. Starting a new game replaces it; to keep every match, use the app.
Can I play on my own?
Yes. Choose one player to practise 501. For an opponent at your level, the app has an adaptive bot.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The keypad is made for touch screens, and on a computer you can type the score and press Enter.
Which checkout does it suggest?
The standard route for three darts on a double, the same as in the Darts Scorer app and the checkout chart.
